The rankings recognise SEK Schools among the best in Spain and Europe

The different school rankings published in 2022 by the media have, yet again this year, ranked SEK International Schools among the best in Spain. Four SEK Education Group schools have been ranked among the top fourteen in Spain, and among the top 67 in Europe, based on the list drawn up by IB Schools.

This ranking, in which the over 1,080 European schools authorised to teach the International Baccalaureate take part, recognises SEK-Atlántico as the second best school in Spain and the 19th best in Europe;  SEK-Catalunya as the 9th best school in Spain and the 52nd best in Europe;  SEK-Ciudalcampo as the 13th best school in Spain and the 66th best in Europe; and SEK-El Castillo as the 14th best school in Spain and the 67th best in Europe. IB Schools is a website that belongs to Education Advisers Limited, which since 2004 inform and advise families in the United Kingdom and the United States on the best schools and universities in the world.

Meanwhile, Forbes magazine has highlighted all SEK Schools among the best in Spain. In this year’s ranking, SEK-Ciudalcampo was ranked the sixth best school in our country, and the second in the Madrid Region. Forbes highlighted “its demanding educational model, recognised nationally and internationally, which belongs to the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB), offering the three IB programmes, the Primary Years, the Middle Years, and Diploma programmes, and requires the teaching and management team to be at the forefront of teaching methodologies”.

This ranking places SEK-Alborán as the best school in Almería, SEK-Catalunya in first position in Barcelona and SEK-Atlántico in first position of Pontevedra.

On the other hand, the digital newspaper El Español has also drawn up its list of the most outstanding schools in Spain, including all the SEK Schools in our country.

Among the most outstanding, the digital newspaper highlighted SEK-Alborán, stressing it is “the only school in the province of Almería authorised to teach the continuum of the three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. It boasts the prestigious NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation that allows its Baccalaureate graduates to obtain the North American High School Diploma, an added value to access an American university. In addition, it consistently scores top marks in the provincial PEvAU in the general phase and has a 100% pass rate in the IB Diploma Programme last year, with excellent results”.

This section also highlighted SEK-Ciudalcampo as a leading school of educational excellence that foster permanent innovation and teaches its own educational model, SEK Future Learning Model. It teaches students using disruptive methodologies, always at the forefront of education, to promote the awakening of their talent”.

In the case of SEK-Santa Isabel, the ranking took into consideration that “they have English-speaking teachers so that students can fully immerse themselves in this language in early childhood and bilingual education from primary school”.

In the innovation category, El Español ranks SEK-Atlántico as “leader of educational innovation in the Galicia region. It teaches a methodology that, combined with the SEK educational model, guarantees academic excellence. The three IB programmes that cover all the educational stages of the school”.

In the case of the most international schools in Spain, El Español has highlighted SEK-Catalunya“The school boasts an educational community made up of 37 different nationalities and combines international programmes with the national curriculum, attaches great importance to learning English and offers the possibility of exchanges with SEK schools in France (SEK-Les Alpes) and Ireland (SEK-Dublin).

The online new site also highlighted SEK-El Castillo as an international school, “offering all educational stages, from 4 months to 18 years, with boarding for girls and boys on campus. It is part of the New England Association of Schools (NEASC)” and, “among those proposals of excellence and personal fulfilment is the SEK International Sports Academy sports and academic development programme, where students can combine training and the practice of high-performance sports with their studies”.

The long-running El Mundo school ranking also highlighted SEK Schools this year among the hundred best in Spain, with SEK-Ciudalcampo and SEK-Catalunya improving their position.
