Under the motto “Refocus & Rethink”, the ECIS (Educational Collaborative for International Schools), of which SEK Education Group is a member, brings together educators from all over the world to talk and collaborate, on this occasion, in the city of London. Experts in education from international schools will take part in this three-day event.
Participating on behalf of SEK Education Group were Mercedes Delso, project manager and advisor to SEK International Schools; Ana Isabel Iglesias, Early Childhood & Primary Coordinator at SEK-Atlantico and Rosa Maria Campos, Nursery & Childhood Coordinator at SEK-El Castillo, to give a workshop entitled “Designing spaces for teaching and learning in the Early Years”, in which they shared their experience in the process of transforming teaching and learning spaces in schools from 0-6 years old.
Thus, SEK International Schools demonstrate the application of meaningful learning, with a careful selection of spaces and materials where children learn autonomously, developing their skills and competences. In this new scenario, teachers take on the role of architects of learning and the success of education depends largely on their ability to create spaces and select materials.
