The Minister of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation, Arancha González Laya, and the ambassador of Spain in Qatar and representative of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the country, Omar Al Naema, have paid a visit today to our school located in Doha, SEK-Qatar.
The director of SEK International School Qatar, Verónica Sánchez, and part of the management team and teachers of the school, showed them the facilities and took a tour of the library, the science laboratories, the visual arts studio, the new Diploma Programme room, classrooms and the main hall, where they could see the more than 60 flags that represent the nationalities that the school has this year.
SEK-Qatar is the first Spanish school in the country, and was founded within the framework of the Extraordinary Schools Program of the Qatar Ministry of Education. As a multilingual, co-educational international school in Qatar, it has an advanced learning campus located in the trendy West Bay district of Doha. English is his reference language, and he also teaches Spanish and Arabic as compulsory subjects for all his students.
During the tour, Verónica thanked the minister for the support to the school. The visitors were interested in the number of students at the school, their nationalities, the languages taught and the Spanish universities that their students access when they graduate.
