The founder of SEK Education Group, Felipe Segovia Olmo, has recently been included in the Spanish Biographical Dictionary of the Royal Academy of History. His unconditional devotion to teaching and educating youth for over fifty years, his contributions to the improvement and innovation of the Spanish educational system and the creation of schools at the forefront of education and cutting-edge technology are some of the merits that have led to his inclusion in the most important database containing information on the Spain’s leading historical figures.

This milestone is added to the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise, the highest distinction in the field of education in Spain, which was granted to Felipe Segovia posthumously on 7 October, 2016.
Felipe Segovia Olmo graduated in Mathematical Sciences from the Universidad Central and in Psychology from the Escuela Superior de Psicología y Psicotecnia at Madrid’s Universidad Complutense. In addition, he was awarded a PhD with honours in Educational Philosophy and Sciences with the thesis “The Intelligent Classroom: design and assessment of an innovative educational experience’.
He was General Director of SEK Education Group in 1958 and became President in 1965. In 2000 he became the first Grand Rector of University Camilo José Cela, of which he was later Honorary Rector and Chancellor.
