COVID-19 Coronavirus

SEK Education Group has reviewed the information provided by the World Health Organization and the Spanish Health Ministry in relation to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Currently, there are no travel restrictions in place, although there is no guarantee there will not be in different countries in the future, including countries to which some of our students and their families are likely to travel.

We ask that, when planning future travel, you please take into account the latest information offered by authorities. We would also invite you to contact the School to share any travel plans you may have, because if you are planning to travel to one of the known outbreak areas (mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Iran and Italy – regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont), we will follow, if necessary, the indications that have been established by the WHO and the Spanish Health Ministry.

SEK Education Group is following the recommendations provided by the Spanish Health Ministry:

“The World Health Organisation does not recommend any type of restriction on travel or trade with risk areas. The Health Ministry updates its recommendations to travellers via its website, which includes specific recommendations on the novel Coronavirus. (…) ”

“People returning from a risk area and that are in good health can lead a normal life, with family, friends and, in general, in school and work.”

“If within 14 days after returning from the trip they develop respiratory symptoms (fever, cough and feeling of shortness of breath), they should stay at home and contact the health services by dialling 112. Health services will assess their health status and travel history and possible contact with cases of Coronavirus. ” (“Questions and answers about SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19”, Centre for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies, Ministry of Health, Government of Spain; 02.24.2020, retrieved on 02.22.2020)
