SEK International School Ciudalcampo becomes the first Spanish school recognised as a Global Member of Round Square

SEK International School Ciudalcampo has become the first Spanish school recognised as a Global Member of Round Square . The school has been evaluated through a comprehensive authorisation process in recent years , so that a year ago it was accredited as a candidate member and has now achieved its new status , following the review of the application and its acceptance by the members at the last annual meeting of the association.

Round Square is an association formed by the most prestigious international schools and currently has 190 members around the world. Its strategic objectives are to represent a global educational approach, establish a dynamic and interconnected network of schools and serve as a platform for future leaders. Round Square is not associated with any prescribed curriculum or teaching methodology, beyond ascribing the principles and educational ideals of Kurt Hahn , a German educator and a key figure in the development of experiential education. Round Square promotes ideals that are part of what is called ‘Discovery Framework’ : ideals of democracy, adventure, leadership, service, environmental awareness, and intercultural understanding. From a global educational approach, Round Square establishes a dynamic and interconnected school network that serves as a platform for future leaders.

As a member of RS, SEK-Ciudalcampo participated in the Round Square International Conference at Stiftung Louisenlund School (Germany) in October 2016, and the Round Square European Region Head andRepresentative’s Conference at Felsted School (United Kingdom).

Round Square is run by a Board of Directors under the presidency of His Majesty King Constantine , and is composed of elected and appointed members.
