SEK Education Group Signs an Agreement with MADCUP for the Development of the F1 in Schools Project

MADCUP, a leading organization in the management of international sports and educational events, and SEK Education Group have signed a strategic agreement to promote the F1 in Schools project within SEK Schools. This educational initiative aims to develop STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among young students through the exciting competition linked to Formula 1, reinforcing both institutions’ commitment to values-based education and academic excellence.

Formula 1 serves as an ideal framework to integrate and promote STEM disciplines within the educational system, offering a practical and engaging approach to learning key concepts in physics, mathematics, and technology. For example, principles of aerodynamics, material resistance, and force and velocity calculations can be illustrated through the design and functioning of race cars. Industrial engineering, applied to vehicle manufacturing and optimization, introduces students to the use of advanced tools such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and simulations, developing both technical skills and critical thinking.

Through this program, SEK Schools’ teachers will receive specialized training in STEM project management and implementation. To achieve this, the initiative will be supported by Luis Isasi, an industrial engineer and professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carlos III University of Madrid, who will lead these training sessionswith the goal of engaging students and faculty in developing the various STEM project areas.

For Alejandro Delso, Director of the Strategy and Innovation Unit at SEK Education Group, “F1 in Schools, in collaboration with MADCUP, is not just a competition; it is a gateway to the future. This project integrates STEM disciplines with fundamental values such as teamwork, innovation, and sustainability, providing our students with a unique and relevant educational experience. We are proud to be the first educational institution in Spain to implement this program in all our schools, inspiring the leaders and engineers of tomorrow and connecting them with an international learning community.”

This project reinforces the commitment of SEK Education Group and MADCUP to comprehensive education and the promotion of values such as sustainability, teamwork, responsible innovation, and competitive spirit.

Spanish Success at the F1 in Schools World Finals

For the first time, two Spanish teams have qualified for the F1 in Schools World Finals, a milestone that highlights the talent and innovative capabilities of Spanish students. Among the teams representing Spain in the World Finals in Saudi Arabia is Xispa, the team from SEK-Catalunya. This achievement not only underscores the educational excellence of SEK Schools but also reinforces the importance of programs like F1 in Schools in shaping the leaders and professionals of the future.

A Boost for Innovative Education

The collaboration agreement between MADCUP and SEK Education Group reflects both institutions’ commitment to the comprehensive education of new generations, fostering projects that combine practical learning, technology, and values.

Thanks to this agreement, SEK Schools students will have access to engineers and experts from the Formula 1 industry, who will collaborate in workshops, seminars, and personalized mentoring sessions. This connection with active professionals will not only enhance their learning experience but also inspire career aspirations in fields such as mechanical engineering, technology, and innovation.
