SEK-El Castillo Secondary students at the 2018 Model European Parliament

Year 1 SEK-El Castillo Secondary school students Adriana Bercebal, Claudia Salvador, Marta Barceló and Kamila Kutyla, were selected to participate in the 18th Spanish Session of the Model European Parliament (MEP), which was held in León between 2 and 5 March.

This educational programme, held in the European Union since 1994, is organised by the  Model European Parliament Foundation in The Hague. In Spain it functions under the aegis of the Office of the European Parliament and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

The MEP aims to promote awareness of European citizenship and the culture of debate among young people through the recreation of parliamentary sessions. In these sessions, young people work in Commissions with the aim of reaching agreements on different topical issues. Their proposals are debated and voted on following the parliament’s protocol, and their final resolutions are presented to the European Parliament.
