The 3rd STEAM Day was held at SEK-Atlántico on 8 June, where students from MYP-ESO and year 1 of the IB Diploma programme presented their projects related to STEAM areas (Science, Technology and Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
During the morning, over 100 students defended 50 projects, carried out throughout the academic year that is about to end, before their peers from PYP-PS, MYP-ESO and Baccalaureate.
Throughout the fair, the families of the student speakers were able to attend the presentations and enjoy the result of the work developed.
The School Principal, Jacobo Olmedo, headed a jury that evaluated the projects, alongside the Deputy Principal for Learning, Cristina Márquez, the department coordinators and science and technology and arts teachers. The winners will be announced on 22 June on the ceremony presenting end-of-year marks.
To cap off the day, Dr Ana María Dios, specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy at the Complexo Hospitalario de Pontevedra, gave a conference entitled The concept of stem-cells and the basis for the transplantation of haematopoitic precursors.
