Salvador Medina says that “the future of education is designed at SEK”

The degree of maturity and development of an institution is measured by many factors, including its ability to adapt, its commitment to quality and constant improvement and its commitment to innovation. Over the past 12 months SEK has launched two projects that have become a leading trend in the educational sector in Spain.

Both challenges are a reflection of SEK’s nonconformity and its firm commitment to an innovative and constantly evolving educational model that adapts to the needs of each student, regardless of the training or life cycle in which they are. The first of these projects began in March 2020, with the creation of a Think Tank on the future of education, featuring not only SEK’s leading talent but also experts from leading international universities.

In under a year this team carried out an in-depth reflection on the future of education and what a university should look like if we were to build it from scratch in three years. And this process of reflection has been carried out by carefully analysing the impact that COVID has had on our way of learning, teaching and relating.

And secondly, it has launched the creation of a Corporate Strategy Unit, which will make it possible to take advantage of all the reflections, projects and strategic findings obtained in this process and implement them within the SEK system. Some of the projects launched by this unit include promoting an educational model based on lifelong learning, engagement of former students with SEK creating a new modern, innovative and value-added proposal or the development of an increasingly personalised educational model.

This unit will be responsible for accompanying the schools and the university in their strategic plans and will help them think about the future of the institution, analysing everything that is best for students and families, identifying and anticipating their needs and providing innovation, value and freshness to the entire university system.
