Nieves Segovia participates in a forum of managers to reflect on the new landscape presented by the pandemic

The president of SEK Education Group, Nieves Segovia, participated with a presentation under the title ‘Educational transformation and culture of knowledge’ in RESET: I International Non-Stop Digital Forum of Executives organised by the Asociación de la Asociación para el progreso de la Dirección (APD), an interdisciplinary event to understand how the pandemic has changed society, the economy and businesses.

“The pandemic has represented a laboratory of unprecedented experiences that demanded a fast response” began explaining Nieves Segovia, concluding that “after almost two years, I believe that the system has shown good resilience in many very difficult moments. We now have the responsibility and obligation not to forget what has happened, and we cannot fail society by returning to an absolutely obsolete model”.

She also highlighted that, in the learning society in which we are immersed, “not only do we all learn, but we must also all be able to educate”. She also alluded to lifelong learning “the existence of formal education system faces itself is being questioned’. Ultimately, our purpose is for each of the individuals we educate to find a space for reflection for their own personal purpose, and this can vary over the course of their lives.

Speaking of formal higher education, the president of SEK Group stressed that “Universities must be an agent of transformation, they must preserve that position, not only as transmitters of knowledge and creation, but also do so in a much more collaborative way, creating systems that respond to all of society’s needs”. In her speech she recalled the  Think Action Tank  launched with the outbreak of the pandemic, and she outlined point by point in the Manifesto that resulted from it, which was showcased at the Global Education Forum 3rd Act.
