Camilo José Cela University has been ranked the third Spanish university with the highest graduate employability, according to a ranking published by Fundación BBVA. This recognition highlights UCJC’s strong commitment and effectiveness in preparing its students for the labor market. The university stands out for its close ties with the business sector, its practical teaching approach, and its dedication to academic innovation — all of which contribute to its strong performance in the ranking.
In this regard, during the 2024/25 academic year, the average employability rate for UCJC graduates was 81.6%. Among undergraduate students, 78.9% found employment after graduating from Camilo José Cela University, while 84.4% of undergraduate students did so upon completing their degree.
The study is based on official data regarding graduates’ employment outcomes and uses three main criteria: the rate of Social Security affiliation, the percentage of graduates working in positions aligned with their academic background, and the average contribution base, an indicator linked to salary levels. These factors help determine which institutions best integrate their graduates into the job market.
The ranking also emphasizes the growing leadership of private universities in terms of employability. In fact, seven out of the top ten institutions are private. Alongside UCJC are Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, Universidad Internacional Valenciana, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Universidad Nebrija, Universidad de Navarra, and Universidad Internacional de La Rioja.
The report also notes the presence of several public universities among the top institutions for graduate employment, such as Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Universidad de Lleida, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Overall, 24 universities — 17 private and 7 public — rank in the highest employability tier.
This achievement confirms UCJC’s practical, career-oriented educational model, aligned with labor market demands and focused on developing key employment skills. It also reinforces the university’s commitment to providing a comprehensive education, positioning it among the most effective universities in Spain in terms of graduate employability.
