The second edition of the ‘#SomosMujeresTech Big Ideas’ event was held in which 28 women participated, including female managers and young STEM students (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Among the young women, the presence of Alicia Ramírez, a 1st year high school student at SEK-El Castillo, has stood out. In addition, Alicia was awarded a few days ago with the ‘Felipe Segovia Award for SEK student’ to study the Diploma Program for the next two years at SEK-El Castillo.
Alicia has intervened to thank the award. “I want to thank the opportunity that this award gives me to become a global citizen of the XXI century, with the skills and knowledge that are needed to meet the challenges and accept the current challenges and those that are yet to come.”
During the event ‘# We areWomenTech Big Ideas’, Alicia has analyzed together with the other assistants such as Carmen Artigas, Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence; Patricia Núñez, director of Canal Lenovo in Spain and Portugal; Rosa Díez, general director of Incibe, “how the Spanish industrial fabric should be transformed to overcome this social and economic crisis and take advantage of these changes to reduce the digital gender gap”. On the other hand, the student of SEK-El Castillo, Alicia Ramírez, stressed that “first we must cover basic needs and then focus on research and develop technology”, also asked during her speech for collaboration from politicians.
