Last July, Juan Lleonart, a student at the SEK Catalunya International School, was crowned world sailing champion in the Optimist category, in the Team Racing category, at the international championship held in Portoroz (Slovenia), where he participated as a member of the Spanish national team.
Before the start of the championship, SEK Education Group awarded Juan the SEK High-Performance Sports Scholarship, a distinction that recognizes the effort, perseverance and dedication he has shown over the past years in successfully combining his academic education with his sporting career.
This recognition, granted by the Felipe Segovia Foundation, “represents a very special motivation for him to continue striving for excellence. For us as a family, it is also a great joy to see his commitment and daily hard work receive such valuable support,” said Juan Lleonart’s parents, who also highlighted the support received from the school in balancing his training and competitions without neglecting what matters most: his studies.
Juan’s triumph is a source of pride both for his family and for the entire educational community, as it reflects not only his talent and effort, but also his ability to successfully balance the demands of sport and academics.
