On February 10, at the Teatro Principal in Zaragoza, José Luis Lesma, Director of Sports at SEK Education Group, was recognized at the 15th Carlos Sanz Foundation Awards Gala. This distinction highlights his commitment and contribution to promoting sports and solidarity.
In addition to Lesma, this edition of the gala also honored Ana Elduque, professor in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and dean of the Official College of Chemists of Aragon and Navarra; and Caja Rural de Teruel, represented on this occasion by its general director, David Gutiérrez.
The Carlos Sanz Foundation hosts this annual gala to publicly recognize individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to its mission and growth over the past year. These awards aim to acknowledge and showcase the support received, which is essential for the foundation’s expansion and impact.
This nonprofit organization is dedicated to promoting organ donation and saving lives. Through various activities and events, it seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of donation and provide support to those in vulnerable situations. Its work has been instrumental in mobilizing and educating the community about this vital cause.
In previous editions of the gala, awards and recognitions have been presented to Fran Escribá and Javier Suárez, coaches of Real Zaragoza; Colegio Montessori de Zaragoza; El Olivar Sports Club; the Intensive Care Medicine Service of Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital; dancer Miguel Ángel Berna; Anna Scheidgen, CEO of New Balance; and Paco Jémez, former footballer and coach of Rayo Vallecano. Additionally, among the foundation’s well-known donors are Leo Franco, Luis Larrodera, Ander Herrera, Maribel Verdú, Dani Rovira, Amparo Larrañaga, Iniesta, Imanol Arias, Ana Duato, and Kiko Casilla.
