Hugo González, SEK-Ciudalcampo Alumni, makes his NBA debut with the Boston Celtics

Hugo González, an alumnus of SEK-Ciudalcampo School, experienced an unforgettable night on Thursday, October 9, as he made his debut with the Boston Celtics in their first NBA preseason game. The young Spaniard showcased his talent with a promising performance, recording 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 3 blocks — the highest number of blocks on his team.

“Defense is everything. If you defend, you can run. Everyone on this team wants to run… That’s what we’re aiming for. So, once we get our defense set, when we can run, we’ll be very, very dangerous,” said the 19-year-old from Madrid after the game.

From his early years at SEK-Ciudalcampo International School, Hugo González has been recognized as one of the brightest young talents in Spanish basketball. He played a key role in helping Real Madrid’s youth team win the Adidas Next Generation Euroleague, where he was also named MVP of the tournament.

In February, González made his debut with the Spanish national team in a game held in Riga (Latvia), where he scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in his first appearance for the senior squad.
