The latest ranking published by IB Schools, in which the best schools in the world that teach the International Baccalaureate are ranked, has highlighted four of SEK Education Group schools among the eleven best in Spain, and among the top 67 in Europe.
This ranking, in which the over 1,080 European schools authorised to teach the International Baccalaureate take part, recognises SEK-Atlántico as the second-best school in Spain and the 19th best in Europe; SEK-Catalunya as the 9th best school in Spain and the 52nd best in Europe; SEK-Ciudalcampo as the 13th best school in Spain and the 66th best in Europe; and SEK-El Castillo as the 14th best school in Spain and the 67th best in Europe.
These results are based on the results obtained by SEK International School students in the last International Baccalaureate Diploma exams in the 2020/21 academic year, that substantially improved the marks of the two previous academic years.
SEK-Alborán students scored an average of 39.1 points (almost 5 more than in the 2019/20 academic year and 11 more than in 2018/19); those from SEK-Atlántico scored an average of 37.2 points (almost 3 more than in the 2019/20 academic year and 4 more than in 2018/19); those from SEK-Catalunya obtained an average of 35.7 points (almost 2 more than in the 2019/20 academic year); those from SEK-Ciudalcampo achieved an average of 34.8 points (more than 3 than in the 2019/20 academic year and almost 5 more than in 2018/19); those from SEK-El Castillo achieved an average of 33.9 points (almost half a point more than in the 2018/19 academic year); and those from SEK-Qatar obtained an average of 31 points (more than 1 point than in the 2019/20 academic year and almost 4 more than in 2018/19).
On an individual level, three students (a student from SEK-El Castillo, another from SEK-Ciudalcampo and a student from SEK-Alboran) achieved the highest possible score, 45 points.
