The proposal, which is part of the SEK Stellar Programme, is aimed at girls and boys between 9 and 15 years old from any country in the world that know Spanish. They will take part in fortnightly activity lasting two hours. Adventure number six will kick off on 25 September 2021: Entitled El Índico (The Indian Ocean) it commemorates the voyage around the Maluku Islands and – the Cape of Good Hope (21/12/1521 – 8/5/1522 -138 days-).

This scheme aims to share experiences for the development of different talents; to learn about the first circumnavigation of the globe; expand knowledge related to the geography of the places visited, the navigation techniques of the time, the technology used, etc., and actively engage with the content, reinterpreting the knowledge from different angles and expressing them in multiple languages.

This forging a learning community whose main objective is the development of talent and values in students, who plan, carry out and regulate their own work.

Methodology

Ven a dar la vuelta al mundo is structured around a series of presentations, in which experts give a talk or a practical session followed by an extensive discussion. These inquiries tackle topics related to the voyage through tasks, readings, collaborative projects, virtual visits, discussions, etc.: a set of activities according to the ages and topics and producing work in which experiences are captured in different formats, preferably digital, individually or collaboratively.
