A group of first-year Bachillerato students from SEK-Alborán, currently studying Economics, has achieved outstanding recognition by winning the provincial round of the Financial Education Audiovisual Competition. Organized by the College of Economists, this edition focused on the theme “Digital Finance: Opportunities or Risks for Today’s Youth?”—a highly relevant topic in the current economic and social landscape.
The competition aims to promote financial education and encourage critical thinking among students, challenging them to analyze the impact of digital finance on their daily lives. The winning students presented an innovative and well-founded perspective on how digital finance can serve as both a tool for growth and a potential risk for today’s youth.
Their audiovisual project stood out not only for its creativity and clarity in communication but also for its rigorous analysis of the benefits and challenges posed by new financial technologies. This victory represents a significant academic achievement for the students and reflects the school’s commitment to providing strong economic education. The next step will be competing in the national phase of the competition, where they will face other winning teams from different provinces.
This year’s competition focused on digital finance, a highly relevant issue today. Participants examined whether these tools offer innovative opportunities for young people or pose risks such as lack of financial knowledge and cybersecurity issues. The national final will take place on February 21 and will be streamed live on the General Council of Economists’ YouTube channel.
