The SEK-Ciudalcampo Debate Club has reached a new milestone by being crowned champion of the 13th Madrid Regional School English Debate Tournament, following an outstanding performance over three days of competition.
The tournament was held in different stages—preliminary round, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final—during which the team, made up of Alice G., Ana K., Lourdes R. and Clara G., demonstrated an exceptional level of preparation, commitment and teamwork. The students won all seven debates they participated in, ultimately securing the championship title.
The judges particularly highlighted the rigor of their arguments, the team’s coherence and strength, the quality of their public speaking and their command of the English language, qualities that enabled them to stand out among the best teams in the region.
In addition, Ana K. was awarded Best Speaker of the tournament, a distinction that recognizes her communication skills, critical thinking and excellence in academic debate.
This success reflects the effort, dedication and enthusiasm of the members of the SEK-Ciudalcampo Debate Club, as well as the school’s commitment to developing key skills such as communication, argumentation and critical thinking.
The club’s achievements do not end here. Next week, another Sixth Form team will represent SEK-Ciudalcampo in the final of the Madrid Regional School Spanish Debate Tournament.
